OUR HISTORY

Wichenford Open Gardens events began over 20 years ago & was originally held in aid of St Laurence Church. Over the years, this biennial event has supported a variety of additional  charities, particularly St Richards Hospice.

Alan Green and his partner Colin Hughes were keen supporters and with their organisational skills, huge enthusiasm and energy, the event grew gaining its widespread reputation for  charming gardens, beautiful views, refreshments and plant stalls - not to mention warm welcome!

Tragically, Alan died suddenly in 2015 and was very much missed by everyone.

After Alan’s death, it was agreed that the event should continue and in the 3 events since,  a total of £28,000 has been raised and been distributed to both village and Worcestershire charities, including St Laurence's Church, The Nora Parsons Day Centre, St Richard's Hospice,  the county Air Ambulance and local schools and groups.
